Sustainable Cities’ Internship Opportunity in Colima, Mexico!

Daily Job Finder debuts with a fantastic opportunity for Canadian youth to intern overseas! The featured position is calling for a Local Initiatives intern in Colima, Mexico.  Sustainable Cities holds as its primary mandate the promotion of sustainable urban development. From the ad, they state that they advocate “good governance through capacity building with grassroots community organizations and local governments to improve human settlements and the quality of urban life in cities in the developing world.”

The internship is open to youth between the ages of 19 and 30 as of July 26th, 2010.  In addition, candidates must be out of school and unemployed/underemployed. The length of the internship is 6 months beginning in mid August 2010.  The successful candidate will be given a stipend of $12,000 and will be expected to cover all expenses associated with the internship (travel, visas, living expenses, etc…). Selected candidates must be able to attend a pre-departure training in Vancouver from July 26th-30th. Missing from the ad is a mention of where interviews will take place.
