To kick off the week, we’ve got a great entry-level position, at one of Canada’s most distinguished cultural institutions: The Royal Ontario Museum is recruiting a Technical Assistant.

What you’ll be doing as a Technical Assistant: replacing labels that have accumulated mold and replacing lids of jars from the vertebrate and invertebrate zoology collections;  wiping and cleaning jars and shelves; transferring fish to new drums and bottles; methodically going through the collections to determine which lots needs more alcohol and replenishing alcohol as necessary.

This is great hands-on experience for a candidate looking to work in a museum setting but without much academic or work experience.

Other things you need to know: the salary range for the position is between 35,635 and $40,726; applications are due by June 30th, 2010 and the indicated start is as soon as possible (so go ahead and get those CVs in!).

All you interested folk can submit your cover letter and resume via fax to:  416-586-5827, to the attention of Mara Gunner, Human Resources & Organizational Development.

Let us know what you think of this position (or any other for that matter) in the comment section.

Till tomorrow.
