GreenHere- Community and Resource Development Worker in Toronto!

Daily Job Finder is back with an exciting position with GreenHere in Toronto! The registered environmental not-for-profit is seeking an entry-level Community and Resource Development Worker.

GreenHere’s objective is to increase the amount of green spaces in lower income communities; by doing so, their aim is to improve not only human well-being, but also create an atmosphere for social engagement and cohesion. GreenHere has positioned itself to be a major catalyst for neighbourhood development for underserved communities in the Greater Toronto Area.

Some of the primary responsibilities: research grants and foundations that can support GreenHere’s campaign; PR related tasks; communicate with constituents; communicate with funding agencies, donors, volunteers, and stakeholders; assist Greenhere in establishing and implementing policies, protocols and procedures; developlong-term organizational plans for the expansion of GreenHere.

What they’re looking for: must have experience/ education in human resources, social studies, media studies, community development, community developments or the arts; must have an interest in community development and environmental issues; the ability to speak a second language preferred (Especially Arabic, Spanish, Korean, Portuguese, Italian and South Asian languages); excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills; must be detail-oriented with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated editing abilities; nowledge of MS Office package and Mac OS X.
