Green Party of Canada – Organizer in Quebec!

Tuesday our daily position was with the NDP, working out of Prince Rupert, British Columbia; if you missed that post you can check it out here: Today, we offer up another position for the politically inclined: the Green Party of Canada is seeking an Organizer to work from home out of the province of Quebec!

The Organizer will be working at the grassroots level, ensuring that Electorate District Associations (EDAs) are founded and receive ongoing support. Travel within the province will be required, in addition to some night and weekend work.

Responsibilities will include: establish, train and support EDAs; recruit candidates in ridings without EDAs; support and train candidates; ensure candidates are registered with Elections Canada; respond to queries from candidates and EDA officials; maintain current contact information in party’s database (civiCRM) for candidates and EDA officials; track data regarding candidates, EDAs and campaigns; ensure candidates and EDAs comply with party and Elections Canada regulations.

Qualifications for the role: ability to communicate persuasively and to write clearly and concisely in French and English; enjoy working with people and have a positive, professional, courteous and service-oriented attitude; self-starter, takes initiative and can work effectively without daily supervision; team player with the ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships; familiar with the Canadian federal political system, Elections Canada regulations, and the principles, policies and culture of the Green Party of Canada; must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under pressure; excellent networking skills, ability to motivate volunteers; experience delivering training workshops; attention to detail and the ability to accurately manage large amounts of electronic data; 1 year political party or NGO organizing experience.

The following technical skills are also required: demonstrated ability to use computers and recent experience working with spreadsheets, including Google docs; familiarity with Drupal and CiviCRM is an asset; good internet research skills; ability to quickly learn new applications.
