Eurocities – Communications Internship In Brussels!

There’s a growing international shift from rural to urban, with most projections estimating that by 2035 more than half the global population will reside in cities. This increasing urbanization of the world calls for sound public policy to combat our most pressing social issues, as well as anticipate those that lay ahead. Today’s position is with a European institution that works within Belgium to bring about policy initiatives that will confront the EU’s most strategic challenges: EuroCities is seeking an Intern who will work with their Communications team! The focus will be on preparing communication materials for key events, specifically the preparation of the “25 years of EuroCities” event in 2011. The internship is in Brussels and is for a period of up to 6 months.

Responsibilities: assist in the preparation of key events; support media relations work; assisting in preparing publications; assist in our e-communications (website, database, image library); give general support to the Communications Department.

The person they’re looking for has: excellent English, fluent French; flexible and inquisitive personality; good IT skills; team spirit.

This is a tremendous opportunity for those of you interested in public policy and communications. This internship is an unpaid one, so if you’re interested you should have alter means of support.
