Today’s position: The Small Enterprise Foundation is accepting applications for Interns to work out of their headquarters in Tzaneen, South Africa!

The Small Enterprise Foundation (SEF) is a not-for-profit, pro-poor microfinance institution working towards the eradication of poverty by creating a supportive environment where credit and savings services foster sustainable income generation, job creation and social empowerment. Founded in 1992, SEF is headquartered in Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa and is the largest microfinance organization in South Africa, servicing over 60,000 clients.

SEF is offering four internships to recent university graduates who are interested in microfinance to support the organization’s operations in the field and at its headquarters in Tzaneen. The internships are for a six month period with the possibility of an eighteen month extension, assuming performance is satisfactory. Housing will be provided along with a monthly living allowance. Reimbursement for airfare will be provided for those interns whose term of employment is extended for an additional eighteen months.

What they’re looking for: strong communications and writing skills in English are required; basic computer literacy (i.e. Word, excel, etc.); a degree in social science, economics, business or accounting is preferred.
