Today’s position: MicroRate Inc. is accepting applications for a internship position for its office in Rosslyn, Virginia!

MicroRate is the first microfinance rating agency and remains dedicated to increasing transparency through independent evaluation of performance and risk in MFIs. It promotes growth in the global microfinance community by providing independent evaluations to create the transparency needed to facilitate the flow of funds from capital markets to this investment sector. MicroRate maintains the highest level of quality in its analyses and services, along with independence, integrity, and an unyielding, long-term commitment to the poor.


· Interns will be matched with a variety of projects depending on their skills, experience and interests as well as the needs of MicroRate.

· Projects include marketing and communications, internal operations & procedures, industry research, investor services, and other analyst work.

· MicroRate views internships as an opportunity to introduce or deepen the interns’ understanding of the microfinance industry.

What they’re looking for: pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in finance, accounting, business, marketing/communications,  international policy and/or related fields;  relevant work experience is also a plus; proficiency in Microsoft Office required; soft skills including being proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work independently and in groups; personal interest in and commitment to applying your work and educational experience to microfinance in order to help those living in poverty; fluency in English, particularly with strong writing skills is essential.  Spanish, French and/or Portuguese language skills are desired, but not necessary.
