Change.org is focused on providing the tools necessary to bring about progressive social initiatives as a for-profit business. Change.org is seeking a Director of Social Media. The role consists of overseeing all social media, online media and external online communications. Change.org has offices in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and New York City; although preference will be given to candidates in these cities, strong candidates should still apply.

Responsibilities: oversee social media strategy on advocacy campaigns and advise on local and regional social media outreach and strategy; identify the most viable social media campaign opportunities and use innovative tactics to help win campaigns and generate earned media; build on well-established contacts with influential online outlets, social media leaders and bloggers; create and develop special online initiatives.

What they’re looking for: extensive experience using Twitter and Facebook as well as familiarity with other social media platforms such as Tumblr, Reddit, foursquare, etc.
